TAPI Links Page

Since May of 2002, I have been hosting the source code that accompanies the book "Windows Telephony Programming - A Developer's Guide To TAPI", written by Mr. Chris Sells. If you are looking for the companion source code to his book, please click on the following link: Windows Telephony Programming Source Code

If you are looking for an easier way to interface with voice modems on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (OSs), I'd like to suggest that you try the EZTapiAPI SDK (Software Development Kit). This latest release of the SDK, version 2.02, is available.

The EZTapiAPI SDK is a powerful software library written C++. The library exports a set of easy to use C functions for developing Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Systems, that work with standard voice modem hardware devices on Windows platforms. The EZTapiAPI SDK offers some of the same voice control functionality found in expensive proprietary hardware/software solutions on your home PC using a standard voice modem. The EZTapiAPI SDK requires no prior knowledge or understanding of Microsoft's TAPI or Windows Multi-Media Technologies.

For more information, please visit the EZTapiAPI SDK Product Page.

The EZCallerId was the first application I developed using a static version of the EZTapiAPI library. The EZCallerId runs as a hidden application appearing only as an icon in the Windows Taskbar when the main application window is closed. The main application window, shown to the right, appears automatically when a new call is recognized. If caller id information is available then the main window will be updated to display the caller's name, phone number, and the time that the call was received. See the product documentation for more information; then download your copy of this Freeware application today.
